Hope Therapy Program – $1,000

Hope Therapy is the recipient of support for the establishment of the Jessica Green Scholarship which will be used to provide hippotherapy to an autistic child who would not otherwise be able to afford treatment.  This could be a new patient who cannot begin therapy because he/she does not have the financial means or an existing patient whose funds have run out and their therapy will have to end. Hippotherapy is a technique that has been shown to drastically improve function and quality of life for the patients. This meets the mission of the Jessica Green Foundation.

Jacksonville School for Autism – $500.00

Jacksonville School for Autism will use funds for their piano recital and music materials.  This scholarship helps to underwrite weekly piano lessons for JSA students under the instruction of Mrs. Twila Miller. It is recognized that children with autism tend to have an impaired capacity to converse, learn efficiently, social connectivity as well as the development and acquisition of new skills.  Music has a complex yet predictable structure and therefore can help with all these deficiencies.  This predictable repetition provides a great learning tool for autistic children.  It has also been shown to greatly improve an autistic child’s social skills as well as patience and tolerance.  This meets the mission of the Jessica Green Foundation.

 

Great Strides Rehabilitation – $500.00

Great Strides will provide music therapy outside of their clinic in locations like private schools, day programs and day care centers who serve children with the adderall diaries autism. Funds will go directly to the families to help reduce the cost of this service.  This meets the mission of the Jessica Green Foundation.

Great Strides Rehabilitation – $425.00

Great Strides will use funds to establish a new music therapy program for children with autism which will be provided by Gretchen Mithcell, MMT, MT-BC, a Masters level music therapist.  Goals included but are not limited to: Increase Motor Skills, Increase Cognitive Skills, Increase Speech/Communication, Increase Social/Emotional, Increase Sensory Integration, Reduce Anxiety, Increase attention skills.  This meets the mission of the Jessica Green Foundation.

The Jericho School – $425.00

The Jericho School will use funds to purchase digital two-way radios for each classroom which will improve their teacher communication system. This system will greatly increase the security of their students who could be at high risk [behaviors that can pose safety concerns] and the staff who are responsible for their supervision. This meets the mission of the Jessica Green Foundation.
